Pinnacle Owls
Why the owl?
Pinnacle Classical Academy’s board chose the owl as the school mascot in 2022 alongside the beginning of our inaugural competitive sport: cross country. After receiving ideas from our student body, the board discussed the various possible mascots for the school for several weeks. Though our students suggested many great mascots, like the phoenix, lion, gryphon, and sentinel to name a few, the board ultimately decided that the owl was the best fit for Pinnacle.
Since the school’s inception, its seal has borne the image of the owl. The owl has traditionally symbolized wisdom, especially in Greek myth. Pinnacle recognizes that wisdom comes from God alone, and we strive to pursue wisdom in all that we do. The owl is a great way to keep wisdom at the forefront of our school!
Beyond wisdom, there are many interesting facts about the owl that make it a fitting Pinnacle mascot. Owls are among the best listeners in the animal kingdom. They come in many shapes and sizes. The largest has a six-foot wingspan, while the smallest is merely six inches tall. Yet, they are all fierce and clever predators. A group of owls (and our upper school) is called a parliament. Come be an owl today!
